# anemia

From 2021-2023, I released three [musical](https://avavu.au/about/music) projects under the name *anemia*, [Life in jars](https://avavu.au/life-in-jars), [How to look forward to the apocalypse](https://avavu.au/how-to-look-forward-to-the-apocalypse), and [Between me and you](https://avavu.au/between-me-and-you). I sometimes joke that everyone made a lo-fi album during Covid.

I chose the name *anemia* partly in reference to the genetic blood condition I have. It was also chosen because of the particular sound I wanted my music to have. All the music I released under the name *anemia* was very meek and distorted, some of it is quite cool for it. 

## Retrospective
In hindsight, I find a lot of *anemia* music a little bit too shy trying to play off being cool. I was not a confident singer or a confident musician.
